The Future of Events From My Perspective

Events I’m looking forward to…

One type of event that I’m looking forward to coming back after Covid-19 regulations are lifted definitely has to be concerts. Over this long period of isolation due to the pandemic, I was able to spend a lot of my free time widening my music tastes. I found many new artists and bands throughout a mix of genres ranging from Korean R&B to Metal Core. While continuing  my search for new music, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of loss at the thought that I wouldn’t be able to see these artists and bands play live any time soon. But now months later I am filled with hope and relief that I will finally be able to see these amazing artists  perform live.

Some other events I’m looking forward to are festivals. such as the Desert Festival, NYC’s Best Food & Drink Festival, and Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. Another event that I am looking forward to has to be the NYC Pride Parade. It’s such a fun and exciting event to attend. It’s always so full of life and diversity, with everyone celebrating their pride.

Changes I think we’ll see in 2021-2022 surrounding live events...

One major change that I think we’ll see regarding live events is an increase in sales and prices. Companies will start raising their prices in order to combat all the decline they’ve had in sales due to Covid-19. Sales will increase because when companies put out tickets for all these events everyone who’s excited to finally go to these social events will snatch them up as quickly as they can. Another change I think we’ll see surrounding these events is Covid-19 regulations such as temperature checks and masks will remain in effect. I think these changes will happen because with everything opening back up a lot of people will want to participate.  They will need some way to make sure people aren’t spreading the virus.

Some of my predictions regarding virtual events…

One of my predictions regarding virtual events is that they will continue at least until mid-2022. I believe this because I think that when Covid-19 regulations are lifted a lot of people will still be hesitant to attend huge social events such as award ceremonies, festivals, and other big events. I also think that in order to cater and keep up with all these high technological inventions and new trends, companies will have to make more events online friendly. Another prediction that I have regarding virtual events is that some new companies will start surging when they release more virtual platforms. Because the wave of technology keeps rolling and more platforms will surely pop up to cater to this.
