Stop Bullying!
Bullying affects more than half of the population and it has to end. Bullying is never acceptable because it can lead someone to a dark place. Through no fault of their own a person can find themselves verbally or physically attacked which can have lasting effects on their psyche and overall well-being. Someone's inability to communicate in a language, their race, the way they dress, their religion can all make them targets for bullies. We can all tell if someone is a bully if they engage in behaviors like name-calling, teasing, hitting, threatening, spreading rumors, and saying inappropriate stuff about someone. If we see those types of acts of bullying we must take action and try to stop it as soon as possible so that the situation doesn’t escalate.
As a society we can work together to stop people from bullying since a lot of bullying happens in communal settings like schools or the workplace. Many individuals that are bullied at school avoid going to school which harms their education and mental health. Victims of bullying face trauma because of the awful things they went through. Bullying may lead to depression and other anxiety disorders causing feelings of loneliness, among other things. It’s evident that bullying and cyber-bullying have a negative impact on someone's life. We all need to take the right precautions to stop the spread of bullying. Everyone deserves to live their lives full of joy and happiness and feel safe around people.
We all should educate the younger and older generations to respect, be kind and nice to others rather than bullying people. Since the global pandemic started, many Asian Americans have been the victims of bullying. They were scared to leave their own house because people say bad things about them and many have been physically attacked and injured.
If we all work together to educate communities of the dangers of bullying, encourage people to stop bullying when they see it, and take action to squash bullying in schools, the workplace and online, then we can make the world a healthier and happier place.
