Event Sponsorship: Foodie Edition
You ever attend a nice event and wonder how it all comes together? Often it is thanks to sponsors. There are many sponsorship opportunities that events offer. Some examples are:
1) Visuals and Digital Experiences: Visuals are expected to “Wow!” your attendees and customers. You know what they say, “The first impression is the most important”.
2) Sponsor Lounges: Imagine you’re out having a good time with friends or family. You just went on that WILD roller coaster ride called the “Steel LEGEND”. Wouldn’t you want to sit back, relax, and talk about that roller coaster ride you just went on? This is what a sponsor lounge would be for.
3) Food and Drink: Simply put, food and drink is exactly what it sounds like. Food companies provide their sustenance for events in exchange for brand exposure.
4) Sessions: This part has to do with engaging with eventgoers by setting up panel discussions or speaker sessions.
What is Event Sponsorship?
Events can’t be held unless there is funding in place to make them happen. Something else that needs to be considered are niche skills that one company can provide for the event. Some companies may even provide both funding and their services! An example of a company that could provide both services would be Nike. For a fashion show that is sponsored by Nike, Nike can provide their funds and clothing products which in exchange will receive exposure of their clothing and brand.
What Food Companies Exist?
How many well-known food companies are there? Well, let’s see… There’s McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s, Taco Bell, Papa John’s, Domino’s, Pizza Hut, Chipotle, and the list could go on and on and on. What sets these companies apart is what food they serve. McDonald’s primarily serves burgers, fries, and chicken nuggets while Domino’s focuses on serving pizza. Companies may not have the same marketing budgets and they may be looking to align with a specific cause or demographic. So when event planners decide on which company to approach for sponsorship these are some of the things they think about.
Food Companies in Event Sponsorships
The main goal of food companies in event sponsorship is to get some exposure to drive business sales up. Even if they are not sponsoring by providing food, they would want their branding promoted as much as possible. Sponsorship packages can get creative such as having a restaurant sponsor an afterparty at the restaurant to drive sales even further! Choosing a restaurant or business near the venue can make the event go a lot smoother. Transportation and logistics won’t be much of an issue, attendees would be more likely to check out the business after the event, and communication can be done in person which is easier and can solidify your relationship with the company for future sponsorships.
